New Flickr group: Fun with Plastic!

I created a new Flickr group called Fun with Plastic. Yes, it is yet another of MANY flickr groups dedicated to toy cameras, holgas, dianas and etc. However, I specifically put this group up as a place for all you folks who drop by this website to show off your stuff.

Night Photography with a Diana+ Camera

More night photos taken with a Diana+ in San Francisco. Camera was mounted on an Ultrapod mini tripod. I was using my own improved shutterrelease lock. Exposures were 1-2 minutes on Tri-X.

Video: How to Load a Holga Camera

I made this video showing how to load a Holga camera. You will notice that tape really isn't involved. The new Holga 120N models are tighter than the older 120S models, so I usually skip the taping up the seams step until I shoot a few rolls and see if I am getting light leaks. Always tape up the counter window. The red plastic will block out subdued light, but in bright sunlight, you will end up burning the numbers and texture of the paper into the film.

Into the Night: Night Photography and the Diana Camera

Photography with a Diana+ is easy to do. Put your camera on a tripod. Set the aperture to Cloudy. Set the shutter to B. If you haven't made one, take a look at my video on how to make a better shutter release lock. Bracket your exposures. I like to do a bracket of 3 exposures. For instance, if you start with 2 minutes (The exposure I used in the above photo), I would also shoot 2 more exposures, one at 1/2 (1 minute) and one at 2x (4 minutes) This is called bracketing your exposure.

Video: Shutter Repair on a Lomography Diana+ Camera

This is a video on repairing the shutter on a Lomography Diana+ camera. It does not apply to vintage Diana cameras. When working this repair, take a deep breath and be patient. What you don't see on this video, are the several out-takes when I fumble trying to get the shutter spring reattached.
